Grief

In any serious physical sickness, the patient would be lying flat in bed in an isolated setting. Their invalidism would be necessary, unquestioned and honourably obtained. But, the sufferer from grief and depression has no such option and finds themselves thrust into the most intolerable social and family situations. They must, despite the anguish devouring their brain, act as if everything is okay.

Stages of grief/dying (not necessarily in order)
Denial, shock: I can’t believe it.
Anger: You can feel righteous. Why, why, why.
Bargaining: If I do everything right, I’ll be okay.
Depression: sleep a lot etc.
Acceptance: Of yourself, of the situation, of the others involved, of the loss
