A Woman Aging

At 20 something, the question is, “Who am I?” Am I who the world says I am? Am I who they want me to be? At the physical level, it’s about the clothes, the car, the body, the fun and the party. At the emotional level, it’s about being loved, being accepted. At the spiritual level, it’s about freedom and no limits.

At 30 something, the question is, “What do I want?” It’s not so much now about the physicality, it’s really now about security. What do I want? How can I move forward into a secure place?”

40 something is the age of purpose. Now the body does start to change and we can go into the physical and be hysterical about it or, spiritually it’s a level of acceptance. The big question is “What am I doing? And who cares anyway?”

At 50 something is the wise woman. The question for the 50 year old in her aging is. “What do I have to offer?” A key for 50 where 40 is acceptance, 50 is about forgiveness because it’s very easy for the things we don’t accept, the things we didn’t do to turn into bitterness.

Every woman needs a wise woman in her life. While men learn through organizations and institutions, women learn from each other. Women need the wisdom, the comfort and the guidance from a wise old woman.
